We've known Charlie since he joined Saddleworth Male Voice Choir. He was a stalwart of our bass section, served as Chair, and also as treasurer for many years.
He was one of the most musically talented members the choir have had, a natural guitar / banjo / ukulele player and very entertaining in the George Formby style.
Charlie was very warm and welcoming to new members, and always willing to share his wealth of musical experience when needed with advice and tips.
He put so much into our Saddlers Folk Group and organised our Christmas get togethers ; at times like these his love for his family would shine through in the stories he told.
It was a privilege to have known him and fond memories of him will remain with us.

I got to know Charlie through supporting Dale, as he and my Dad Steve watched many games together over the years. He was such a genuine, kind and decent family man. As a long-term exile, the chance to catch up with Charlie was an added bonus to any match I was able to attend no matter what the result.
With all best wishes,

Charlie, such a lovely, kind and sincere man. We loved to chat at SMVC rehearsals and concerts. He was so proud of his family and loved to update me with Daniel’s achievements as an Army Musician. I will miss you Charlie. Loved by so many. Louise Brennan
